About Vereda da Fajã Grande

A short but demanding cliff descent on the far west coast at Ponta do Pargo. From the Miradouro do Fio, beside the tea house, the path zig-zags steeply down to the sea, dropping from about 380 m almost to the waterline. It is steeper and harder than the neighbouring Vereda do Pesqueiro that shares the same beach, and the lower, rarely-used section is often overgrown. Cliffs of wild cactus line the way, so take care of the near-invisible spines. Only attempt it in dry, clear weather and if you are sure-footed.

Vereda da Fajã Grande (V-FAJAGRANDE) is a round trip route of about 3.0 km in Madeira.
