One of the oldest and least-visited levadas in Santana, running below the Levada do Caldeirão Verde from the Pico das Pedras road to its madre at the meeting of two streams. The first stretch passes farmland and eucalyptus before the Laurissilva takes over, with til, laurel and vinhatico closing in around the channel. A 200 m rock tunnel mid-route needs a head torch, and a few short unprotected ledges near the end reward care with a small waterfall and sea views.
Levada da Silveira (L-SILVEIRA) is a round trip route of about 16.0 km in Madeira.
What you'll see
Expect a levada water-channel path and laurel forest (laurisilva).
The path runs between roughly 609 m and 706 m above sea level, so conditions can change with altitude.
